But of course, getting to where we are today didn’t happen overnight.

Our History

2014

Oscar leaves Airbus to start “Globo” (later “Glovo”) with a mission: deliver anything in under an hour.

2015

Oscar invested €10K into a barely working app prototype. It was rough, but enough to pitch investors and raise €2M by the end of the year. Sacha Michaud came on board, and Glovo was born with two simple options: Buy Something / Sell Something, handling less than 10 orders a day.

2016

Saw Glovo go from a tiny local service to a marketplace for local stores. By 2017, we raised €25M, ensured the deal with McDonalds in Spain and Italy, and started our international journey. We were scaling fast, and learning fast.

2018

Glovo hit a 675% growth rate and expanded to 21 countries, but we faced a tough reality: our tech team was too small. After shutting down Brazil to focus on markets we could win, we made our next big bet: growing from 20 to 300 engineers by 2020.

2019

We ended the year with a big win: finally breaking even on operations margin!

2020

Was a rollercoaster. We made the tough call to pull out of some markets, but lockdown hit, and groceries boomed. Our geographic expansion continued, and we landed in new places like Uganda and Kyrgyzstan, while staying laser-focused on profitability.

2021 and 2022

Were about consolidation. We acquired 6 companies and launched in new markets. 2022 also marked the year DH acquired Glovo, supercharging our tech and operational scale.

2024

Glovo hit EBITDA breakeven: meaning we’re officially profitable. We also went all-in on a big bets project, Glovo Next, our first-ever major product keynote, putting a spotlight on what’s next for Glovo. And that’s not all, we also hit a massive milestone: 1 billion orders globally!

2025

10 years in, and we’re still just getting started. We’ve done a lot, but there’s so much more to come. Ready to see where we’re going next?

I joined Glovo at a very early stage of the company. My biggest challenge during these years has been adapting to the growth and changes and giving my best during this adventure. We started building tripods with cereal boxes for shootings, and now we launch TVC campaigns almost every quarter around the world! This amazing journey has been so intense that now I have yellow blood inside my veins.

I started my journey at Glovo in November 2022 as the Live Operations Country Manager for Poland. From day one, I was given ownership and the chance to make my mark, which aligned perfectly with my personal philosophy. This sense of connection to the company and talented people around made a big difference. Over the last two and a half years, I’ve grown immensely, exploring different roles and becoming the best version of myself every day. Now, as I step into a new chapter as Head of Talent Acquisition for the international and business teams, I can honestly say Glovo isn’t just my job: it’s my passion.
